    Estuarine plumes are frequently under strong influence of land-derived inputs of organic matter. These plumes have characteristic physical and chemical conditions, and their morphology and extent in the coastal area depends strongly on physical conditions such as river discharge, tides and wind action. Lopes da Costa. The Humboldt Current, also called the Peru Current, is a cold, low-salinity ocean current that flows north along the western coast of South America.

It is an eastern boundary current flowing in the direction of the equator, and extends –1, km (– mi) Humboldt Current is named after the Prussian naturalist Alexander von Humboldt.

The subtropical gyres include eastern boundary current upwelling systems: the Canary Current system in the North Atlantic and Benguela Current System (BCS) in the South Atlantic.

The tropical circulation is predominantly zonal (east–west), including the North Equatorial Countercurrent and the South Equatorial Current, and has a low-latitude.

Long-term automated synoptic observing system (ASOS) data collected from stations over a period of 50 years (–) were analyzed to investigate the distribution of strong winds on the Korean peninsula by utilizing a statistical method.
